St. Ignatius School admits students of any race, color, gender, racial or ethnic origin, to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to all schools. St. Ignatius School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, racial or ethnic origin, administration of its education policies, admission policies, scholarship or loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
A birth certificate and baptismal certificate (if Catholic) for each student must be provided to the school office at the time of registration.
Admission Priorities
- Siblings of children currently enrolled in St. Ignatius
- Children of parents who are active members and formally registered at St. Ignatius Parish and currently have no children in the school;
- Children of Catholic families outside of St. Ignatius parish who are active in their home parish
- Children whose parents support the values and philosophy of St. Ignatius School
Entrance Requirements
Incoming kindergarten through 8th grade students will go through a screening process to determine admission and final placement at St. Ignatius School. For incoming first graders and above, the screening will take place as either a half or a full day visit. To qualify for admittance screening:
- Preschool: Fill out Pre-Admissions Assessment Application
- Kindergarten and First Grade: Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1, and entering first graders must be 6 years old by September 1 in order to be screened for admittance
- Grades 2 - 8: Screening placement for 2nd through 8th graders will be based on the grade attended at the student's previous school
- All students enter on a 90-day (minimum) probationary status until they have demonstrated acceptable academic and behavioral performance. This probationary period may be extended if necessary. St. Ignatius School has limited resources for behavioral support and may not be able to meet the needs of all students, especially those who chronically disrupt the learning environment or threaten the psychological and/or physical safety of others. In such cases, the school may terminate the student’s enrollment.
Transfer Students
St. Ignatius welcomes transfer students at all grade levels, subject to the following guidelines:
- Grade placement will be accepted from the previous school, subject to confirmation by a screening process.
- Copies of the student's most recent report card, standardized testing results, and prior teacher recommendation, must be provided, if applicable
- Students delinquent in the payment of past tuition at another school will not be admitted. However, St. Ignatius will work with the previous school and the family to ensure that all past due amounts are paid before the student enrolls at St. Ignatius.
- New 8th grade students will be accepted on a case by case basis.
- If information regarding a child's learning or behavioral needs is withheld from school officials, and the school determines that these needs cannot ethically be met, the parents will be asked to withdraw the student.
