Greetings St. Ignatius Families,

We are so proud of our 2025 graduates! They have shown us what it means to be joyful leaders always willing to serve. As they move into high school, they will continue to make a positive impact in creating a just and compassionate world for all. We will miss them. We wish each and every one of our Gator Graduates the best in the next adventure!

We ended the year with our typical Promotion Mass where the students ‘move’ into their new grade level’s location in the church. Fr. San asked the students what they learned about themselves this year and about God. The students’ answers were profoundly perceptive. They learned they can improve at skills if they keep trying, and they discovered some hidden talents. They learned we are sheep and God is our shepherd and that God loves us. We blessed our departing staff members as well. The 7th grade class lead us in this beautiful Mass as they rise up to 8th grade and become the new leaders of our school.

Serving, Learning, and Growing: Even through the final days of the 2024-2025 school year, our students continue to expand their eager minds. Our preschoolers spent time in the library this week listening to 2nd graders present their book reports. The preschoolers spent time on the last day of school thanking their 7th grade family group members. The kindergartners finished up their Virtues Journal for the year. Fr. San took our first and seventh graders to the Loyola Jesuit Center to see five week old ducks swimming in the pond. The duck eggs were in a nest over there and taken to an incubator for hatching to protect them from predators. The students enjoyed marveling at God’s creation. Then the first and seventh graders spent time reading together in the school hallway on their last full day of school. The second graders made bubble wands in science last week and gave them a whirl outside. The third graders finished the year writing creative stories for their artwork of a camouflage animal in the city. Our fourth graders excelled in math mastering all of the foundational standards for fourth grade! The fifth graders studied about the Civil War in social studies and performed their last reader’s theater performances. The sixth grader dissected frogs this week with the steady hands and curious minds of future surgeons. Our seventh graders took over the morning announcement duties after the eighth grade graduation and the seventh grade class spread out among classrooms to assist with packing up this school year in preparation for summer. Finally, our middle school mural making elective finished their beautiful first mural wall. We hope our Gators continue to calculate, read, and write with curious minds all summer long!

Please take a moment to review your child’s report card right away, so you can ask for clarifications needed from the teachers before many of them leave for summer on Wednesday. A hard copy will be mailed home along with final Star reports in the end of June packet including important information about the upcoming school year.

Church News: Please join us for a whole month of celebrating St. Ignatius’ Feast Day with the St. Ignatius parish community this July. After our 10:30 AM Masses, the following events will take place in July.

School BBQ- We will host a school community BBQ during our Meet and Greet event on Thursday, August 28th from 5:00-7:00 PM. The Meet and Greet, with uniform exchange, will run from 3:00-7:00 PM on the same date. Our SAC members look forward to welcoming you to another great school year at the school BBQ!

**Save the Date for next year’s school auction- April 18, 2026!

We wish all of our families a blessed, safe summer full of rest and fun, memorable family adventures.

As we continue the work of building a just and compassionate world throughout the summer, let us ponder the words of Fr. James Martin, S.J., “But Jesus accepts what we give, blesses it, breaks it open, and magnifies it. Often in ways that we don’t see or cannot see. Or will not be able to see in this lifetime. Who knows what a kind word does? Who knows what a single act of charity will do? Sometimes the smallest word or gesture can change a life.”

MUSE Band in the Fall

What is M.U.S.E. Band?

M.U.S.E. is an organization that offers instrumental music for grades 4-8.  Group lessons are offered at your school once a week. The cost of these lessons are half of what it costs to take privately and students have the added attraction of learning an instrument with their friends and classmates in a group setting (the school band).
