We, the community of St. Ignatius School, in the tradition of Mother Marie Rose and St. Ignatius of Loyola, provide a faith-centered Catholic education guiding God’s children toward building a just and compassionate world.

Reconciliation: We celebrated the sacrament of Reconciliation this week. We are blessed to have four Jesuit priests to assist the students in preparing their hearts for Easter.

Learning, Serving, & Growing in Faith: We celebrated St. Patrick this week. A few leprechauns came through our school but none of them were caught by our preschool, kindergarten, or 3rd grade leprechaun traps. The preschool students partnered with our fifth graders to plant seeds for our parish’s raised garden beds. In kindergarteners are learning about coins and the science concepts of pushing and pulling. Our first graders have been acting out stories from the life of Jesus and learning to add to 20.The second graders are writing about their favorite season for a book project. In third grade, the students are learning about financial literacy and the concepts of saving and spending. The fourth graders have been busy making birdhouses as part of caring for God’s creation and our environment. Our fifth graders ran a successful book donation drive for the SMART reader program. The sixth graders conducted a powerful simulation demonstrating the importance of biological diversity by drawing toothpicks as genes and observing generations of fish in a simulated pond. Our sixth graders decorated bags and assembled our Transition lunches this week too. The seventh graders are finding God in all things displayed in an artistic collage. Our eighth graders took a gallery walk with American Revolution battles. All week long we have heard facts about Neurodiverse brains during this International Neurodiversity Week. Our students had so much fun this week learning together!
