Greetings St. Ignatius Families,

What a joy to finish May celebrating our Mother in heaven with our May Crowning prayer service! The students enjoy traveling to the Mary altar at the Loyola Jesuit Center in their Family Groups to lay down flowers for Mary.

Our Academic Fair was a wonderful time to celebrate the learning our students have done while supporting the various presentations from our middle school students. From the Science Fair to Night of the Notables to the Arrupe Project along with many other hands-on learning displays, our students have certainly expanded their eager minds this year!

Volunteer Hours: Please take a moment to update your volunteer hours you have completed or expect to complete in the next two weeks. Invoices for hours not showing in Track It Forward will go out early next week. Thank you for the many ways you support our school through volunteering your time and talents.

Staff Fun Facts: This week’s fun fact, “I used to own my own computer company,” belongs to Mr. Beseau. Stay tuned next Friday for the last staff fun fact!

Staffing Update: Mrs. Pfeiffer, our fifth grade teacher, has decided to move on from St. Ignatius and explore other endeavors.  We wish her all the best in her next adventure! Through our interview process our interview team is thrilled to announce we have hired Darby Granberry as our new fifth grade teacher. We look forward to welcoming all of our new staff members to St. Ignatius!

Field Day: Next Friday we will have our Field Day led by our 8th grade leaders. This year’s theme is Under the Sea. Swim goggles or beach towels are encouraged! Students may not wear bathing suits. Students may wear school appropriate athletic attire with their class color shirt and Under the Sea accessories for this day. Please remember we have water based activities, so have a towel ready in the car at pick-up or send your child with a change of clothes if they will need to go to Club K after school.

As we approach the end of the Easter season and celebrate the Ascension of Jesus into heaven, may we always carry with us the hope of the resurrection as stated in Isaiah 40:31, “They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar on eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.”
