Greetings St. Ignatius Families,

Examen Reflection: This week, our students took time to pray the Examen together in class, with some grade levels choosing to partner up for the experience. The Examen is a simple, five-step prayer created by St. Ignatius of Loyola—our school’s patron saint—as a way to pause, reflect on the day, and recognize where God is present in our lives. It offered a meaningful opportunity for students to slow down, reflect, and connect with their faith—and with one another.

8th Grade Retreat: This week, our 8th graders spent a meaningful day together in retreat at the Grotto. They reflected on our Jesuit and Holy Names heritage and what it means to carry those values forward as leaders at St. Ignatius. Students explored how they serve as role models and companions for the younger grades and how they can use those leadership skills to make a difference beyond our school community. The day included Mass at the Grotto and a special blessing to support them in their continued leadership this year.

Service Learning: Many of our students have been putting their faith into action through meaningful service projects. Kindergarteners brought in food donations and delivered them to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at our parish offices. First graders helped care for our campus by doing a litter patrol on the turf and playground. Second graders kicked off their letter-writing ministry, sending thoughtful notes to parishioners. Our fifth graders decorated lunch bags and assembled meals for Transition Projects. Each class is finding age-appropriate and impactful ways to help build a more just and compassionate world!

UP Nurses: This past Tuesday, our amazing nursing students began conducting vision screenings for several classes—a project they'll continue throughout October and into November. They’ll also begin teaching a nutrition lesson as part of their ongoing support. We’re especially grateful to have them helping out during Thursday recesses, too. What a gift it is to have their care, knowledge, and enthusiasm in our school community!

Jog-a-Thon:  We are proud to announce that we have made our fundraising goal for our Groove Our Way to $50K Jog-a-thon! Several classes rallied this week to earn a Bingo party with 100% participation! Congratulations to Kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 8th grade for 100% participation in fundraising! Congratulations to the Richardson family as our top fundraising family bringing in $1,995 for our school! The Santos and Lau families came in second and third for fundraising! All three families will receive pizza and cupcakes!

Baby Formula Drive: As we wrap up our Jubilee Year, our parish community is collecting baby formula for a local food bank—an act of mercy inspired by “Give drink to the thirsty,” one of the Seven Corporal Works of Mercy. Donations can be dropped off at the school office or sent with your child to class throughout October. Thank you for your generosity!

C.A.S.E. Training: We will host our final fall initial in person C.A.S.E. (Creating A Safe Environment) training this Wednesday, October 22nd from 6:00-8:00 PM. All volunteers must be up-to-date on annual C.A.S.E training modules and new volunteers must take the initial in person training. If you wish to attend the training this Wednesday, October 22nd, sign up through this link: C.A.S.E. Registration 10/22/2025.

May we continue to live out our faith as we are reminded in Matthew 10:42, "And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water… truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”

Peace be with you.

Carol Pausz

Principal

Benefit Concert - Tickets selling fast!

Benefit Concert Flyer.jpg

We’re excited to announce that our entire parish community is coming together for a major initiative: the “**Under One Roof” Capital Campaign**. Dillion Hall has faithfully served our community for many years—but its roof has reached the end of its life and must be replaced in the summer of 2026. At the same time, our gym’s scoreboard is no longer functional or repairable, and also needs to be replaced.

Undertaking both of these essential projects requires significant resources. Our goal is to raise $250,000 to install a new roof and a much-needed scoreboard—investments that will preserve and improve spaces we use and cherish year-round.

To help meet this goal, we’re thrilled to host a special benefit event this December: Patrick Lamb’s Charlie Brown Christmas Concert. All proceeds will go directly to the “Under One Roof” Capital Campaign.

🎟️ Tickets are on sale now!! Space is limited, and this festive concert is expected to sell out quickly—so don’t wait to reserve your seats! tickettomato.com/event/9653
