Priest Visits: Fr. San and Fr. James began classroom visits this week! In kindergarten, in honor of St. Francis of Assisi's feast day, Fr. San visited for a stuffed animal blessing. St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us! Fr. James spent time with the eighth graders talking with them about the Catholic social justice concepts of promoting peace, option for the poor, the common good, and human dignity. We are blessed to have parish priests visiting our classrooms regularly!

Groove Our Way to $50K Jog-a-thon: As of this morning, we completed our Groove Our Way to $50K Jog-a-thon raising $50,000!!! We are so grateful for the last minute large donation that put us over the top and catapulted the 8th grade to the top fundraising class! The Silver Shoe Trophy will be awarded to their class and reside in their classroom for the month of October! Many classes made their class goal and will have a Special Dress Day. Those teachers will send information directly to the families in their class on the date of their Special Dress. Alex from kindergarten won our stuffed Gator drawing last Friday. We will let you know when we will have our whole school PJ day and when our school water bottle filler will be installed. Congratulations to all of our school and parish community! Thank you for making our first fundraising event fun and successful.

Learning, Growing, and Serving: Our students are growing through hands-on learning and serving others! Our preschoolers are learning about apples and tasted five different varieties. The kindergarten students made slime in science class as they learned about touch as one of the five senses. The first graders read the picture book As the Crow Flies by Gail Hartman and made paper crows. The second graders created cute cats with pumpkins to decorate the hallway. Our third graders created spooky painted haunted houses. Our fourth graders wrote about what they like so far in fourth grade and created stunning fall art for hallway display. The fifth graders created artwork based on complementary colors for hallway display. The sixth grade took their first service trip to Courtyard Mt. Tabor to visit the elderly. The seventh graders created thoughtful Biblical timelines for hallway display. Our eighth graders studied cubism and created interesting works of art in that style. All of our students are learning and growing in faith and knowledge.

In trusting the slow work of God, may we rejoice in discerning God’s path for us as we hear in Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know well the plans I have in mind for you—oracle of the LORD—plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope.”
Peace be with you.
