Supervision
- Outside teacher supervision of students begins each morning at 8:10 AM.
- For safety reasons students may not play games or be on the play structure before school or after school until dismissal and pick up is over (3:20 PM).
- Teachers will supervise the students until 3:20 PM after school (2:20 PM on Wednesdays). Students remaining after that time will be escorted to the office where they must be signed out by a parent. An extended care fee may be applied via FACTS.
- After school, teachers are only responsible for supervising students who have not yet been picked up by a parent or guardian. Once a student has been released to a parent or guardian, the parent or guardian is responsible for supervision.
- While teachers are on duty, they are supervising students. Please do not ask them to conference with you at this time. Conferences may be scheduled on an individual basis at any time.
Walking and Biking Students
Walking/biking permission form must be on file in the office for students who leave school unescorted. This form can be found [here].St. Ignatius School recommends that only middle school students are allowed to do so, and that younger students who walk are accompanied by a parent or middle school-aged sibling.
Students who are released to walk or bike need to head to their destination once dismissed. Students may not be unsupervised on the parish or school campus after school.
Students and parents riding bikes should not ride their bikes on campus and should walk their bikes to the street.
Signing In and Signing Out
It is important to know who is in the building in case of an emergency. If your child arrives at school late or needs to leave early, a parent or guardian is required to sign them in/out in the log book in the office. Students arriving late must present an admittance slip from the office to their teacher.
